Here then is a basic guide to the five types of rugs we carry:
Handmade:
More specifically, hand-hooked. Handmade equals more detail, and many more color options, than with machine-made rugs. It also means that no two rugs can be exactly the same. Our hand-hooked rugs, woven with cottony-soft, weather-defying, all-synthetic DuraCord® yarns, are no short-term indulgence, they’re a long-term investment. Blending inspired design with an uncanny ability to last, these heirloom-quality rugs are as at home in the airy sunroom or on the polished beach-house floor as they are on the weathered back deck. |

Machine-made:
Less expensive, and typically lighter-weight, than handmade rugs, but often with comparable durability. Our imaginative designs, including up to five separate colors, are woven with computer precision from a new generation of synthetic yarns, balancing weather-toughness with surprising softness. That means a long outdoor life, minimal upkeep and a sincere treat for naked feet. |

Bamboo:
Among the toughest, most-resilient plants on the planet. Our aged-bamboo rugs and mats are crafted from the world’s most sought-after bamboo, straight from the environmentally managed highland gardens in the Anji region of China. However, this very “green” collection includes delightful colors and patterns that Mother Nature only wishes she’d thought of! Our mats and rugs are fine for limited outdoor use – but please don’t leave these lovely items out full-time. All bamboo products come with a ventilated, non-slip, synthetic rug pad already attached. |

Outdoor mats:
A Persian-style rug made from recycled soda bottles? Absolutely! Our economical, weather-durable mats, boasting a variety of vibrant designs, will boost the style of any small space. From comforting floral motifs to warm Southwestern flavors, appealing geometric patterns and, yes, the ancient Persian central-medallion, all of our mats are made from very modern polypropylene that, in many cases, is recycled from post-consumer plastic.
